Nowadays we think of technology in only one way. We think of it only in terms of computers or computer related items and yet technology comes in so many forms that we never think about. We are dependent on technology to such an extent that we don't really pay attention to where it comes from.

Technology is simply the manufacture, use and knowledge of machines or crafts, also known as tools. We use tools almost every day without paying much attention to them. For example think about the knife, fork and spoon that you use with all your meals. These are a form of technology.

Other forms of technology which we are surrounded by all the time require a bit more electricity in order to run. A personal computer must be plugged in at all times in order to function, much like a printer, even if they use canon ink cartridges.

This is why some people prefer to only make use of a laptop. It means that they can take their computer with them wherever they go, and because of the battery they can also use it away from a power source.

Technology is all around us. Taking forms we often don't take the time to notice, but even the more advanced technologies had their beginnings in simpler, more basic forms.
